Our Story
Bandolas Bakery was born from flour, family, and the belief that food should make people feel good.
Earlier this year, Steven stumbled across an ancient bread recipe that sparked something unexpected — a passion for baking. The more he learned, the more he fell in love with the process: slow fermentation, quality ingredients, and the kind of homemade food that feels both nourishing and deeply comforting.
After connecting with a group of Saskatchewan farmers producing incredible local grains, the vision for Bandolas Bakery came to life: small-batch wholesome baking made with honest ingredients and a whole lot of heart.
We believe good food doesn’t need shortcuts.
Now every loaf of sourdough, every buttery dinner roll, and every gooey cinnamon bun is baked using locally sourced ingredients and traditional methods that let the flavour speak for itself.
But Bandolas Bakery is about more than baking.
It’s about supporting one another.
It’s about slowing down.
It’s about gathering around the table with people you love.
Born and raised in Swift Current, Steven has always been rooted in community. From playing hockey with the Swift Current Rockets, to soapbox racing through the city streets, to longboarding around town with friends, Swift Current shaped who he is. Some of his earliest memories were spent gardening with his grandmother, Lois Bandola — learning that good things take time, care, and patience to grow.
Today, that same spirit lives inside the bakery.
Bandolas Bakery is a modern prairie micro bakery built on local grain, family roots, and food worth sharing.
